外刊中的地道写作表达

在本专栏当中，我会从近期的英文外刊中精选一些地道的表达和句型进行精讲。这一篇讲几个表示比较的短语。1 be a poor substitute for 比不上For many low-income students, online courses are a poor substitute for in-person learning.对于很多低收入学生来说，网络课并不能替代面对面学习。substitute作名词，表示替代品。常用作a substitute for sth某事的替代品。在substitute前面加上poor(不好的)：A is a poor substitute for B. 表示A比B差很多，或者说A无法取代B。这个短语带有否定的意思，也可以写成：A is no substitute for B (这里的“no+可数n”就相当于"not+a/an+可数n"，即A is not a substitute for B)在对两个事物进行对比时，就可以用到这个表达。再比如：Teleworking, in which employees may slack off and lack communication with colleagues, may be a poor substitute for traditional office work.在远程办公中，员 ………………………………
