The construction of Foshan Station, a part of the newly established Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway, officially commenced on July 28, which marked a pivotal step toward providing high-speed rail access directly within Foshan's city center. (Photo provided to GDToday) The new station will be located near the original site of Foshan Railway Station, with a total investment of approximately 10.3 billion RMB for the station and the surrounding infrastructure. Of this amount, around 4.745 billion RMB is allocated for the comprehensive transportation hub that will support the station, along with the integration of Foshan Metro Line 3. Foshan Station will feature a design that accommodates three platforms and seven lines, with provisions for future expansion. The effective length of the arrival and departure lines will reach 650 meters.
