Electric Vehicles and Travel Behavior This special issue aims to enrich our knowledge of the impacts of EV adoption on travel behavior and the transportation system. A growing body of research explores the factors influencing the market growth of electric vehicles (EVs), including behavioral issues, infrastructure development, and incentives. Less is known, however, about EV use after adoption. Researchers debate whether EVs can serve as full replacements for conventional vehicles as some EV users drive fewer miles. Conversely, the lower operating cost of EVs, coupled with incentives, might increase vehicle use, exacerbating transportation-related negative externalities. EVs could also lead to other changes in travel choices, including vehicle ownership, mode choices, and route choices.
