Click on the top to follow us A single floater specialist has submitted a commercial offer in a Petrobras tender for the charter of a mid-sized floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to revitalise operations at the Barracuda-Caratinga field in Brazil’s prolific Campos basin. Over the past few years, Brazilian state-controlled oil giant Petrobras has been struggling with the lack of competitiveness at its tenders under the more market-friendly lease-and-operate format, as traditional players have flocked to other countries in search of better terms and conditions. According to three well-informed industry sources, Shapoorji Pallonji Energy was the only company that came forward with a proposal for the Barracuda-Caratinga FPSO, marking the first time the Indian player participated in a Petrobras bidding competition.
