例：My mother is not only fond of cooking, she's also a wonderful cook.

insist on +动名词  坚持要……     insist  坚持

例：Whenever i take my son out to dinners,he insists on eating hamburgers.

每当我带我儿子外出晚餐时，他总是坚持要吃汉堡包。                                                       

foot the bill 付帐

例：Hedidn't have enough money to foot the bill.

他没有足够的钱付帐。

impress+人+with+事物           以某事物使人印象深刻

impress  使印象深刻

例：Bob impressed us with his knowledge of world history.

鲍勃对世界史的知识使我们印象深刻。

seem to+动词原形   似乎…… 

例：John seems to be happy,but i can't be sure.

约翰似乎很快乐，但我不能肯定。
