The establishment and development of modern educational science are founded on scientific research methods. The innovation of educational research methods is a crucial driving force for advancing educational theory and practice. In order to promote the paradigm shift of China's educational research and continually enhance the scientific rigor of research methods, the Faculty of Education at East China Normal University has initiated an annual National Forum on Empirical Education Research (FEER) since 2015, along with holding the annual selection for the Outstanding Achievement Award in Empirical Research in Education since 2017. The past decade has witnessed increasing acceptance of the empirical paradigm in educational research in China, which has significantly improved the production of scientific knowledge in the field of education.
