On the afternoon of August 15th, a crocodile was spotted basking in the sun in a waterway in Dongxiang Village, Panyu District, Guangzhou. It is suspected that the crocodile was washed over from another area due to the recent rainfall and the proximity to the sluice gate; the exact source of the crocodile is not known for the time being. However, it is located close to residential areas, posing a safety hazard to local residents. Around 3 PM on August 15th, the local village security and zoo staff captured the crocodile and took it away. Where did this crocodile come from? Experts indicate that based on the crocodile's color and scales, it appears to belong to a common artificially-bred species, the Siamese Crocodile.
