COLUMN Research on Textbook Construction in Digital Age Research on Textbook Compilation Aligned with the New Curriculum Standards ZHOU Wenye, HUANG Xiru, & LIU Juntao Institute of Curriculum and Instruction, East China Normal University, Shanghai, 200062, China Abstract: High-quality textbooks aligned with the curriculum standards are an important carrier and key starting point to solve the educational fundamental problems of “what kind of people to cultivate, how, and for whom”. This article addresses the current shortcomings in the research and practice of textbook and curriculum standard alignment in China. Based on the “Instructional Materials Evaluation Tool Version 1.5” developed by EdReports in the United States, the analysis framework for textbook and curriculum standard alignment is refined into four aspects: rigor, focus, coherence and support. It also analyzes the new requirements for textbook compilation from the perspective of alignment with the new curriculum
