Click on the top to follow us (P ) — The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) is approaching the final stages of the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline project, NNPC announced on June 22. Mele Kyari, group CEO of NNPC Ltd., confirmed the project's progress during an inspection of the OB3 pipeline River Niger Crossing at Aboh, Delta State. The OB3 Gas pipeline is designed to connect the Eastern gas pipeline network to the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in the West and the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Pipeline in the North. For over three years, completing the River Niger Crossing has been a significant challenge, but recent adoption of micro-tunnelling/direct pipe installation technology by contractors Messrs HDD Thailand/Enikkom and Tunnelling Services Group (TSG) has achieved 860 meters out of 1,800 meters required. This breakthrough has renewed confidence in the project's timely completion. Kyari expressed optimism about finishing the project
