Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals Targeted radionuclide imaging allows for the detection and staging of diseases, assessment of patients' eligibility for treatments like radionuclide therapy, and monitoring of treatment progress. The use of radionuclides emitting alpha and beta particles has also enabled the treatment of refractory cancers. Researchers are focusing on developing new radiopharmaceuticals as both diagnostic tools and therapeutic drugs, with the goal of better understanding pathogenesis, as well as monitoring, staging, and evaluating disease progression and outcomes of conventional therapy and/or radionuclide therapy. This special issue will highlight the latest advancements in radiopharmaceuticals, with a focus on innovative diagnostic probes and therapeutic radionuclide agents for more effective disease management.
