Qatar is spending billions of dollars on expanding and maintaining the production profile of the giant North Field, but is also expanding its NGL plants in Mesaieed Industrial City, Upstream understands. The fur existing NGL plants in Mesaieed are currently producing propane, butane and condensate, mainly intended for export, with Qatar now aiming to add a fifth facility, NGL-5, to further scale up its production capacity, sources said.
