As schools begin their summer holidays, Guangzhou South Railway Station is anticipating a surge in passenger traffic this upcoming weekend. From July 19 to 22, it is expected that the station will see an average of 670,000 passenger trips each day. (Photo provided to GDToday) Since the start of the summer travel rush, the station has seen a total of about 8.78 million passenger trips and operated 13,000 high-speed trains. From July 11 to 16, the station consistently served over 300,000 passenger trips per day for six consecutive days. In order to meet the demand for tourism and family visits, Guangzhou South Railway Station has announced plans to operate 49 additional high-speed trains from July 19 to 22. This includes 24 extra trains on weekends and 12 overnight high-speed trains.
