Position Summary The newly established lab of Dr. Wang Zheng
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Neuroscience is
recruiting motivated trainees at all levels to investigate the role of
mechanotransduction in brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders. Our
research focuses on how mechanical forces and mechanosensitive ion channels
influence neural development, plasticity, and the pathophysiology of
neurological diseases. Using cutting-edge approaches at the molecular,
cellular, and animal levels (such as cryo-EM, electrophysiology, confocal/Ca2+imaging, ex vivo recording and mouse models), we aim to uncover the mechanistic
underpinnings of mechanotransduction in brain development and disorders and
leverage such knowledge for developing therapeutical treatments. We are seeking highly driven graduate
students , postdoctoral fellows and research assistants with
diverse backgrounds to join our interdisciplinary and collaborative team.
