Research assistants or PhD fellowship in genetics and molecular biology We are looking for multiple candidates for a Hong Kong government funded project that focuses on the biodiversity, population genetics and genomics study of nematode species in Hong Kong. The candidate is responsible for collecting nematode samples from various sites of Hong Kong, isolation and identification of the collected nematode species, performing genetic and genomic study of these nematodes. He or she is expected to design and optimize primers for PCR amplification of unique genomic regions of the isolated nematodes and identify the species through Sanger sequencing or through NGS or Nanopore DNA sequencing. Applicants with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in genetics, molecular biology, and/or computational biology are encouraged to apply.
