Collective Intelligence for the Internet of Things This special issue aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to share their advances in this emerging field. We hope that this special issue will inspire further research to: (i) how different IoT devices can be interconnected to create a global brain; (ii) how different data sources can be integrated to create a general knowledge to feed the collective intelligence; (iii) what artificial intelligence techniques can be used in IoT devices , considering their computing limitations; (iv) how different partial views can be integrated for making decisions; (v) what are the scalability issues and the robustness of this distributed-global intelligence; (vi) and what are the main security and privacy issues that may raise due to the use of devices close to end-users.
