Soil and water management to prevent salinization under changing climate conditions The theme of World Soil Day 2023 (WSD) is “Soil and water, a source of life”, with awareness of the importance and relationship between soil and water in achieving sustainable and resilient agriculture systems. Salinization is one of the most serious global threats to agriculture. In changing climate due to global warming, both soil and groundwater are increasingly threatened by salinization. It is imperative to understand salt cycling in agri-environments and to revitalize salt-affected agri-food systems. This Special Issue will focus on improving soil and water management to prevent salinization.
